“Creativity through Adversity"
Jim Chastain wears many hats. On the professional side, he's an author, attorney, journalist, fi lm critic, poet, screenwriter, and band manager who likes to talk about himself in third person. On the personal side, he's a husband, father, cancer survivor, and generally strange fellow (says Jim). Ford, Jim's son, is interested in music and heads up the popular rock band, Refuje, as well as his own solo projects. We experienced music (by Ford) and poetry (by Jim) as they illustrated how art and conflict are often closely connected. They focused on how they have used these two mediums of expression as a positive influence during tough times dealing with cancer.

Licia's mother passed away in 2008. She had a "God Bag" with cards with favorite quotes from Unity Daily Word magazine. Licia made copies and laminated them for each of us to draw the one we need for this New Year. -- Helen Duchon.
