The Board has requested a trial run presence on Facebook to see if that would assist our members any in receving notifications, etc. of events and other situations (including personal, like a house burning down or someone's health condition needing prayers, etc.). The beauty is that each person who joins the group can be instantly notified when something comes up, like bad weather closing us down for a Sunday, special prayer requests, deadlines coming up, etc.
We also have 3 "discussions" ready to run at the moment, one of which is prayer requests. The one topic that has posts/opinions right now is the one for discussing announcements and whether or not people want to allow them at the end before we sing "Peace on Earth".
Right now the group is closed. Don't let that keep you from requesting to get into the group to have your say. It's only closed because this is a trial run. I'll add you when you request to get in. I've had a ball playing with Facebook and finding out what it's about. If you don't have a page you may find it fun yourself. If not, we are working on ways to build our communications and connections with our members. If you have recommendations, contact any of the board members. We'll be glad to work with any ideas.
